Traffic Jam

What my Monday morning commute was like:

And this was right about when the traffic guy said the interstate was moving smoothly. Uh huh. Not exactly how I would describe it.

An almost Wordless Wednesday

  1. Now give the poor traffic guys a break, it's hard to report from one's desk. *grin*

That would drive me absolutely batty. Grr.

  2. Ugh...that reminds me of the days when we lived in Chicago. I don't miss those traffic jams!

  3. And sometimes, the traffic guy does not mention anything about heavy traffic, we presume it's smooth but then get caught in one quite soon!

  4. The traffic guy fibbed! I think they do this to keep up morale!

  6. Ugh, they never seem to get it right! It reminds me of the one hour drive (each way) I used to make to work... I sure do not miss that!

  7. We're lucky we don't have that kind of traffic here in our place.

  8. Love your "almost" WW- it's so funny how it's so hard to stay wordless. :)

That's one bonus of the SAHM- no morning commute- although there are those dreaded Parent Drop-off and pick up lines to deal with...

  9. The only time you get to take a photo on the highway is when the traffic is stopped.

    Just an interesting thought ;)

  10. I'm certain those traffic guys are always about 10 minutes behind. Which in traffic reporting is not good!

  11. That reminds me of when I was working. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get to work, two plus hours to get home, all for 75 miles into the Houston area.

Happy WW! Thank you for the visit and this thoughtful traffic report.

  12. Lovely, sounds like the guy we have here. I hope you weren't sitting there for too long.

  13. don't you hate that? i can't count the number of times I'd hear the traffic guy say "nothing but smooth sailing" while my radiator overheats because I'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for the next forever miles.

  14. I was hoping to be the first cat who learned how to drive, but now I am not so sure...

  15. I sure don't envy sitting in traffic. So frustrating when there's nothing you can do.

  16. I hate traffic. I always have this fear that my car will break down in a major traffic jam and that everyone behind me will start yelling and honking.LOL.

  17. Yikes! Makes me glad I don't have to make my commute to Boston in the summer...a 30 minute drive takes 1 1/2 hours in the a.m.! Grrr. Hope the rest of the week's commute is smoother for you.

  19. I think right about there I would be starting my panic attack...!

Thanks for your comment on my blog today. I can't see anyone paying for the photos, but it's a nice thought. :)

  21. Hahaha - funny picture, though I'm sure it wasn't much fun in the morning ;-)

London has pretty bad traffic all day, but there are some hours in the morning and in the afternoon that are unbearable. I do my best to stay at home during these hours ;-)

  22. I remember traffic like that. I am so glad we moved.

  23. I keep trying to leave earlier and earlier to avoid the traffic. Still it doesn't always work.
