Giraffe Love

I had so much fun making this giraffe for one of Dylan's friends.  Isn't he adorable?

I found the directions to make him here. Technically, he should stand up (apparently I didn't get him stuffed quite as well as I thought) but he does look rather cute sitting there.  I'm going to try another one soon for Dylan.  He loved this one so much that when he saw it after I finished, he grabbed it and stashed it in his crib! I felt a little guilty taking it away.  Hopefully his buddy loves it just as much.

And, of course, I needed a matching card:

The sentiment was inspired by Big Birthday Giraffe card by mum of 2+2 at Splitcoast Stampers

Supplies: Treehouse Designs patterned paper; Recollections white cardstock; Making Memories edge scraper; QuicKutz Studio font; Stampin' Up! Fox & Friends stamp set and Early Espresso ink; Bernhard Modern Standard font.

Owl Halloween Cards

Eager to play with my new Fox & Friends stamp set, I took inspiration from Bonnie's Step it Up a Notch and the Two Peas Challenge: 15 & 30 Minutes Card to create these cards:

I cut a single sheet of cardstock in half and scored it to create the base for both cards.  Then I cut equal size pieces of the background paper, inked the edges, punched the circles and stamped the owls.  I glued each white circle to the scalloped circle.  Then I put together the first card - gluing the patterned paper to the card and attaching the owl embellishment with adhesive backed foam.  For the second card, I "stepped it up a notch" (to quote Bonnie) by adding the black & white patterned paper and the ribbon.  I also gave the owl a little bling (hard to see in the photo) by coloring over the stamped image with Stickles.

Supplies: Stampin' Up! cardstock (tangerine tango), Fox & Friends stamp set, and Basic Black ink; white cardstock; Stickles by Ranger Industries; QuicKutz circle die; EK Success scalloped punch; Fiskars and American Crafts patterned papers; adhesive backed foam; Ribbon from Target dollar spot.

Mother's Day

Hope all the mommies had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday.  I asked my sweet boy for a hug and got several so I considered myself pretty lucky.  :)

Here's the card I sent to my mom:

I made it a few months ago at a Stamp A Stack workshop taught by my friend, Bonnie.  She came up with some wonderful card designs for us to create and all of the pieces were ready to go.  I just had to stamp and piece together - the fun parts! :)  Check out Bonnie's blog Stamping with Klass for more great card ideas.

Blog Hop Wrap Up

I had fun participating in Scrappin' Mojo's blog hop this past weekend. Ten of us hosted challenges on our blogs with chances to win small RAKs and one chance to win the grand prize of Bo Bunny scrapping goodies from Scrappin' Mojo. Winners will be announced in the Scrappin' Mojo Forum tomorrow by 12 noon.

Here are the projects I created for the challenges...

For Marcie's challenge to complete at layout with a cute little nature animal and Stella's challenge to use a non-alpha stamp on a layout.
Supplies: Recollections cardstock; Staz-On black stamp pad; Studio G stamp; Marvy LePlume markers; Micron black pen.

Terri challenged us to make a card. I made one that we will send to Trent's younger brother after the baby arrives.
Supplies: Bazzill cardstock; miscellaneous white cardstock; Staz-On brown ink pad (edges); American Crafts letter stickers; QuicKutz Moxie font; Die Cuts with a View adhesive backed cardstock; TaDa patterned paper.

Tackled three with this layout of Trent's softball season - Angela's sports themed layout; Niki's red, white & blue color scheme; and Diana's sketch challenge.
Supplies: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper; Bazzill and misc cardstock; EK Success border punch & stickers; Martha Stewart Crafts sepia pen.

My final layout was for Jan's challenge to scrap your most recent favorite photo and Sophia's white only challenge. The latter took a lot of thinking especially since 99% of my scrapping supplies have some sort of color to them.
Supplies: Bazzill cardstock; EK Success corner punch; Prima flowers; Making Memories snaps; Basic Grey chipboard; white acrylic paint; Heidi Swapp chipboard.

I've been meaning to label these fabric bins in our laundry closet since we reorganized it last year. Danielle's challenge to create a home decor project using scrapping supplies inspired me to finally get around to it.

And I made a tag for a similar bin we have in the nursery closet that currently holds all of the small toys.
Supplies: Paper Reflections tag; American Crafts ribbon; Die Cuts with a View adhesive backed cardstock; QuicKutz dies; Staz-On black stamp pad; Daisy Hill acrylic stamps; fiber from 7gypsies album packaging; Dymo label maker.

Thursday Thirteen #4: Scrapbooking Favorites

Thirteen of my scrapbooking favorites right now:
  1. Making Memories tiny alpha letter stickers - I seem to use these quite frequently on layouts and cards
  2. Stampin' Up Whisper White ink pad
  3. Sketches & Challenges - excellent for reviving that mojo when I want to scrap, but am struggling with what direction to take.
  4. StazOn black ink pad
  5. We R Memory Keepers 12x12 photo sleeve pages - these are making it so easy for me to quickly add my Project 365 photos to my album.
  6. Punches - especially corner rounder and border punches
  7. Adobe Photoshop
  8. Signo Uniball pens - white & silver
  9. Chipboard
  10. Tombow Mono Adhesive - my favorite adhesive for years. I grab a refill every time I'm at a craft store to make sure to have plenty on hand.
  11. Scallops
  12. Collages - whether cutting & piecing by hand or arranging on the computer & then printing, I'm loving this quick and easy way to add a lot of photos to a layout without the page seeming too busy.
  13. American Crafts 3-ring albums - how did I ever survive without these? They make it so easy to add pages and mix & match sizes.
