I love to express my creative side through art, photography, scrapbooking and a bit of DIY. I spend at least a small portion of each weekend on another project in our "new to us" house (aka foreclosure to home). I enjoy thrifting - the adventure, the hunt, the unexpected find.
My family always comes first after my faith. I have been married to the love of my life since 2003. I am mom to one adorable son (born July 2009) and one four legged cat who recently celebrated 13 human years. We are expecting our newest family member in October 2014.
When it comes to parenting, we do things "our way" which really is just similar to how our parents raised us and what works best for us (ie, I don't think any less if you parent differently than me - each family is unique). I breastfed and made the baby food. We believe in vaccinations, we take our son to our dentist [not a pediatric one - the horror! ;) ], we all get haircuts at a walk-in salon. We eat dinner together as a family and don't make special "kid" meals. My son loves his veggies. Seriously. Don't mess with his peppers.
I am a survivor of endometriosis and miscarriage (times 2).
I was born and raised in the South. I say y'all, like my tea sweet, but am not a fan of barbeque or grits.
I blog to share and because, frankly, I'm a bit talkative. I also blog at Notes from a Mom in Chapel Hill (A Guide) where I join Allison and Jay in sharing ideas for exploring the Triangle with your kids.
