Eight

Hard to believe this little guy is 8 years old today. I found him a few minutes ago in one of his favorite hide out spots - under our bed. Happy birthday, Chester! :)

As The Belly Grows

I've been asked by several different people lately to see the "pregnant me." Truly there was no belly before last week to photograph. Last night I asked Trent to help me with photos that will show off the new belly and another cute outfit. And, yes, suddenly I have a thing for pink shirts - 3 of my 7 maternity tops are pink! :D

For the Two Peas weekly challenge to make a girlie page, I scrapped this cute photo of my niece, Violet. She is such a happy girl and every time I pulled out the camera, she'd turn and grin. :)

Digital Pages

Trent kindly stopped by the post office during lunch for me yesterday to pick up my latest order of digital scrapbook prints from ScrapbookPictures.com. I had placed the order the previous weekend while all of the sizes I needed were on sale and requested the standard $2 shipping. Needless to say, I was quite surprised on Sunday to find a note in our post office box that the package was waiting for me to pick up. And, as usual, the quality was wonderful. Now to get them all into their proper albums. :)

Self Portrait

Sporting the new haircut and new maternity clothes before heading off to church yesterday, a self portrait:

And, no, the house isn't that crooked - I just couldn't hold the camera straight and snap a photo with one hand even with a little supervision from Cali. ;)

Saturday w/ My Sister

Yesterday my sister drove over to meet me for a day of shopping. We started with lunch at California Pizza Kitchen where I snapped a photo for my Project 365.

Then while she headed to a hair appointment, I went to Archiver's to complete a make 'n take album which will be perfect for baby brag photos. :) And picked up a few baby papers.

Afterwards, we went to store after store looking at shoes and maternity clothes. The maternity clothes were the most frustrating - very little in stock, expensive, fit funny and did I mention expensive?? When we left the mall I'd found just one pair of jeans in a department store on sale that worked and fit the budget. On the suggestion of an employee in Gap, we headed to the shopping center across the street to see what Old Navy had. Again, very small selection although I did buy one pair of super comfy black pants and a hot pink 3/4 sleeved top as well as these adorable little clothes for my baby. They were clearanced out - $7.50 for all three (vs. $30 at full price).

PhotoHunt: Warm

Searching for a photo for this week's PhotoHunt theme, I came across one my mom took in January 2008 of my sister's cat & dog curled up in my brother's lap. They loved to snuggle up together. :)

During a trip to Myrtle Beach last summer, we stopped to see Warbird Park. Located next to one of the airport runways, the park was created as a tribute to US Air Force personnel who were stationed in Myrtle Beach. The Air Force base closed in 1993. Layout design based on sketch 18B from the Pink Sketches blog.

Saturday Breakfast

Over the weekend I worked on pages for the latest circle journal. Tammy's theme is "Around the Dinner Table." I set up the camera on a tripod and used the timer setting to get a photo of Trent & me at our table for breakfast Saturday morning. One of our favorite breakfast meals is the French Toast recipe from the Deceptively Delicious cookbook.

Cleaning & Knitting

I think nesting is into full effect around here. We spent a good part of the weekend doing more cleaning and organizing around the house. And I started knitting a baby blanket.

Treasure Frame

Every visit to Target, Trent & I check out all the clearance end caps. Mostly it's just fun looking, but occasionally we stumble across something good. On Wednesday night I found this cool "Treasure Frame" marked down to $4.98.

I have a few thoughts in mind of what I might do with it, but no free time yet to play with it.

Thanks for all the sweet comments about our little boy! It's been a treat for us to read each and every one. We were so excited about the good check-up yesterday and enjoyed sharing. :)

Fun Weekend

We spent the weekend in Virginia visiting my mom and stepfather. My younger brother came home from college as well as one of my cousins & her daughter visiting from Mississippi dropped by for a visit. All in all it was a very fun time catching up.

When we returned home late yesterday afternoon, I found a package on the doorstep with my latest order from Two Peas in a Bucket. There was an opportunity last month to earn $20 in free shopping for uploading projects to the gallery. As you can see, I had fun spending mine last week. Looking forward to playing with these new goodies.

Joe's Place

Last May, my friend, Kim, and I got together for a belated Christmas celebration. We had dinner at a restaurant downtown called Joe's Place which sadly closed it's doors last week. I guess I wasn't completely surprised. As you can tell from the photos - the restaurant was nearly empty. Only one other small party came in while we were there. Nonetheless, it was a shame to loose this special Raleigh spot.

Supplies: miscellaneous red cardstock; We R Memory Keepers patterned paper; black stamp ink; Fontwerks label sticker; Martha Stewart Crafts sepia pen; Stampin' Up black marker; Making Memories letter stickers

Beach Layouts

Since winter clearly isn't ready to leave just yet (we had snow flurries overnight), I decided to share a few beach related layouts I created over the weekend to inspire warm, summery thoughts. :)

Our favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach is the Sea Captain's House. This former bed & breakfast retreat on the ocean was turned into a restaurant nearly 40 years ago. It was recommended to me a couple years ago by a local and now we visit every time we are in the area.

Supplies: miscellaneous teal cardstock & photo corners; American Crafts patterned paper; Making Memories spiral paper & letter stickers; Heidi Swapp chipboard letters; Martha Stewart Crafts sepia pen.

Another pastime we enjoy at the beach, is visiting the arcade for a bit of Skee-Ball. Usually we'll go to a place near the beach house, but last summer during a rainstorm we stopped into the newly added Pavilion Nostalgia Park at Broadway at the Beach. This area of the center features a few of the rides and games from the original Myrtle Beach Pavilion which was demolished in late 2006.

Supplies: miscellaneous black cardstock & chipboard arrow; Bazzill white cardstock; KI Memories patterned paper; Basic Grey patterned paper; Studio G stamp; Die Cuts with a View adhesive backed cardstock; QuicKutz Moxie font; Signo Uniball white pen; black stamp pad.

This past Saturday I enjoyed meeting my Two Peas friend, Lori, and spending the day scrapping at her house. We had so much fun! I'm already looking forward to our next get together. :)

Supplies: Making Memories patterned paper, brads, date stamp, and felt letter stickers; miscellaneous cardstock; black stamp pad; QuicKutz metro font & tab die.
