Craving #1

I've been fortunate that except for the week I dared to try taking prenatal vitamins (they are evil!), I haven't had any morning sickness. I've returned to my OB approved Centrum + folic acid to make sure I'm still getting those important vitamins so the baby & I are healthy but without the sickness. I do have some cravings and food aversions though. A bit more picky in what I'll eat at the moment. But one thing that has been ok regardless how I've felt - chocolate ice cream! Scoops or a shake - yum!!

  1. I craved banana splits the whole time I was pregnant with Jeremy. Many a night Randy would have to get up and go to DQ and get me a BS blizzard.

  2. Hey, I say feed yourself what you want/like (within reason) and keep yourself happy! I loved popsicles and Slurpees when I was pregnant!

  4. I don't really know why some people can't take prenatal vitamins. I still take mine, well, I don't have to anymore I guess, but we were thinking of trying again this spring so I was still taking them "just in case" so that my body would be prepared as it was not last time.

I never had morning sickness, I felt queezy a couple times but I had started a new job so I thought it was just nerves, as it was usually when I was at work. My major craving was fruit. I just wanted fruit all the time. My couldn't stand the smell of meat when I was pregnant. My husband opened a can of flakes of ham when he got home from work at 3 AM and I was sleeping, it woke me up and I was like what is that DISGUSTING smell? lol probably shoulda realized I was pregnant. Anyway. At least you have a yummy craving and there's no pickles in your icecream. ;)

  5. Ice cream was one of the very few things I could eat with all 3 of my kids and not feel sick. In fact sometimes it even took my nausea away. That bowl of chocolate sure does look great right now.:)

  7. I tried two different prenatal vitamins before I found one that didn't make me sick! It was a purple oblong pill...don't remember the name. Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck with everything. Love your blog!

  9. Congrats to you and Trent on your wonderful news! I am so excited for the two of you!

When I was pregnant with Amanda, I hated red sauce. With Emily, I was always eating peanut M&M's and with Andrew I needed to have steak.

  11. Ice cream is very good for you...all that calcium! :-) I remember pre-natal vitamins made me sick, too. I could take them only with food.

    Glad you are feeling well!!

  12. Absolutely...go for what your body is craving, and ENJOY! I can't remember how many bags of Chex Mix I went through during my pregnancy with Nattie :) With Jamie, I didn't have any cravings, but I went off bananas completely! Hormones are an amazing thing...
